First Haircut

Gabriella has finally had her first haircut.

I went to the salon on Friday to get my hair done. Beau and Gabriella were packing up to head out of town (without me) to visit Marie and George and help them pack up for their move. On their way out of town they both stopped by the salon to say goodbye. We took the opportunity and got Gabriella's hair cut for the first time. It was just a trim, but it was pretty exciting.

Gabriella thought it was such a "Big Girl" thing to do. She sat their perfectly still and smiled the whole time.

As for my weekend: It was very relaxing and quiet(I think that Mikey and Gheri thought so too). I had a Junior League event that I had to attend, on Saturday, so was unable to head down to Clearwater to help. Beau had bought me a gift card to the spa, so after my event I spent the rest of the afternoon at the spa. Today I woke up at 10(haven't done that in a few years), went to the gym, straightened up the house, and am planning on taking the dogs on a nice long walk. It's been nice, but am ready for them to get home this afternoon.

Hope everyone else had a nice weekend!!!

New Hiding Place

So a few weeks ago Gabriella taught herself a new trick. I heard her yelling out "mom, mom," but it was rather muffled and I could not figure out where it was coming from. I walked into her room and could hear her but couldn't see her. It took me a second to figure out that she was in the drawer.

Step 1: find a drawer large enough to hold her
Step 2: Get into said drawer
Step 3: Close said drawer and hide from mom

Meet The Firefighters Night

The first Thursday of each month the firefighters of Gainesville have a "Meet the Firefighter's Night." Kids get to go out and meet some firefighter, climb around the fire truck, and watch how a firefighter puts on all his gear.

Gabriella is obsessed with fire trucks. We live just down the street from a fire station and at least twice a day they pass by our house with the lights flashing and the sirens going. If we are home she runs to the window to watch. So yesterday evening we took her down to see the truck and meet some firefighters.

Gabriella had a blast. They let her climb into the truck and touch a few things. Then she got to hold one of the fire hoses. At the end they let her sit in the front seat and pretend to drive. It was really cute. I think that she was in awe the whole time.

On another note, after almost 4 and half years we are finally able to park a car in the garage. We still have to do some organizing so that it is easier to get in/out of the car, but we are finally using it for what it was intended.

Beach Days

This past weekend we enjoyed a beautiful day, with friends, at Crescent Beach. We were there celebrate to  Aubrey's 2nd birthday and Alana's 5th birthday. It had been a while since we got together with our friends, so it was real nice to see everyone and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Lounging in the sand

Beau took Gabriella out in the waves and taught her how to boogie board. She's a brave little thing. Gabriella went right out there and got on the first wave. She loved it so much she got right back out there.
