Lilliana Elena Rightmyer has finally arrived and we could not be happier. She is absolutely beautiful and a perfect addition to our growing family. She was born on February 4, 2012 at 12:52 am, weighing 6 lbs. 7oz., and measuring 19 inches.
Labor and delivery was a lot easier this time. We had a few scares though. During labor Lilliana's heart rate would drop significantly during some contractions. Our nurse and doctor were concerned by this and so we tried a few different options. When it was time for delivery we found out that the cord was around her neck and the reason that her heart rate would drop every now and then. The doctor quickly cut the cord and the respiratory specialist got to work. After about a minute and a half (which seemed like forever) of no sound the respiratory specialist got her breathing on her own and we heard the sweet sound of crying.
Gabriella was so excited to finally meet Lilliana. She jumped right into the bed with me and took over. She made sure that Lilliana was comfortable and even brought her one of her pacifiers to share. She has been such a big help!!!
