Since I got my new bike, for my birthday, we have been trying to go on a family ride each weekend. Lately, our trip of choice has been the Hawthorne Trail, a 16 mile trail between Gainesville and Hawthorne. Someday we will make the 32 mile roundtrip, but for now we bike about 6.5 miles into the trail and then turn back.
Yesterday we invited our new German friends and their son to come along for a ride and picnic. It was a beautiful day. When we stopped for lunch Gabriella and Thaeu had a great time. They ran around for the better part of an hour chasing each other and covering each other with dirt and leaves. They were both sad when it was time to get back on the bikes and head home.
