Glad For Some Warmer Weather

For those may not have heard Gabriella came down with pneumonia after New Years Eve. One day she just had a lingering cold and the next day it was a full on fever that didn't want to go away. We took her into the doctor's office and after chest x-rays it was confirmed, Lower Lobe Pneumonia.

I had pneumonia around the same age and can remember being hospitalized for it. So, needless to say I was pretty scared when they gave us the diagnosis. The doctor and nurses said to not worry. Just take her home, be sure to give her her antibiotics, and keep her indoors for a few days. We had a bitter cold front come through, with highs in the 40's, and staying indoors for a few days wasn't that difficult. Keeping a child occupied and relatively quiet was another thing.

After our 1 week check-up the doctor said that her lungs sounded clear and she was doing fine. By then the weather had warmed up and we were given the go-ahead to play outside. Gabriella was thrilled.

I am not taking any chances of Gabriella getting sick again. Now she goes out with double layers on and has her hair blow dried after showers. Beau and I were shocked when I dried her hair and it was so long. Seeing her with straight hair made her look all grown up. Something that Beau and I are not ready for.
