A New Year

So it has been over a month since I posted anything. With Christmas, cleaning up Christmas, and then Gabriella getting sick I just haven't had the energy to update everyone. Sorry.

Christmas was great, though I wish that it could have been colder here in Gainesville. Being almost 7 1/2 months pregnant I didn't feel like traveling anywhere, so Beau family made the drive up here. It was a nice, short, sweet Christmas. We all enjoyed a delicious Christmas Eve dinner at our favorite restaurant, Manuel's. When we got home Gabriella set out her cookies and milk for Santa and some reindeer food out in the lawn for the reindeer. It was fun pretending with her about Santa, except that Beau and I realized that it was the first time we were lying to her and didn't really like the feeling. But make believe is all a part of growing up.

Christmas morning was exciting. It was the first Christmas where Gabriella understood what was going on and was able to really enjoy opening gifts. Santa brought her a play kitchen and a new bicycle. I don't think that she really knew what to think at first, but after a few minutes warmed up to the idea that these things were hers.
